The craft of mobile making spans many cultures and goes back hundreds of years. The mobiles I create are inspired by Pająki and Himmeli, the Slavic and Nordic folk traditions of making mobiles to decorate and bless the home.
Pająk is Polish for ‘spider’, while himmeli comes from the Swedish word for ‘heavens’ or ‘sky’.
